LONDON: Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola, Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho and Germany’s Joachim Low are all silent subjects of Chelsea speculation but one man happy to say publicly that he has no interest is Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp.

The man already struggling to cope with England rumours is the latest linked with the jon from which luckless Andre Villas-Boas was sacked on Sunday after only eight months; assistant Roberto Di Matteo has been named as caretaker to the end of the season.

Redknapp said: “I wouldn’t ever be able to come back to north London so No, I will pass on that one. I have to say, it’s a club you can win a championship at because the owner [Roman Abramovich] has spared no expense. He has built the most incredible training ground, and they buy top-level players.

“They have top players so it’s a dream job for someone to go there and make a success of it, whoever they take. So many people would love that job and the chance to work at a great club with the backing that the manager gets there.”

Villas-Boas, a former aide of Mourinho, was appointed last summer after winning a quadruple with FC Porto in his first season but overhauling an ageing Chelsea squad which maintaining trophy contention in all the major competitions proved beyond him.
