GLASGOW: Celtic finally clinched the Scottish Premier League title by winning 6-0 away to overwhelmed Kilmarnock.

Left-back Charlie Mulgrew was the force behind their first-half domination, scoring twice and setting up goals for Glenn Loovens and Gary Hooper to give the Hoops a 4-0 halftime lead.

Late goals by midfielder Joe Ledley and Hooper confirmed the return of the title to Parkhead for the first time in four years.

Celtic have a double in sight. They face Hearts at Hampden next weekend in a Scottish Cup semi-final.

Managr Neil Lennon described this as the “best day” of his career. He said: “It’s the best day of my professional life. It’s been two years in the waiting. I’m so proud of them. They deserve it. We have been the best team in Scotland by a long way and we have finished it in the right way.”
