MADRID: Cristiano Ronaldo set a record as the only player to have scored against all other 19 clubs in La Liga as Real Madrid wrapped up their Liga-winning season with a 4-1 dismissal of Mallorca in the Estadio Bernabeu.

A full-fanfare presentation ceremony followed before captains Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos took delivery of the new league championship trophy from Spanish federation president Angel MariaVillar.

Jose Mourinho’s men set other records as the first club ever to reach 100 points in a season, beating the 99 achieved by Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona in 2010. They also reached a scoring record of 121 goals with strikes from  Ronaldo – his 46th league goal of the campaign and 60th in all competitions – Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil (two).

Madrid ended nine points ahead of deposed champions Barcelona, who signed off with a 2-2 draw at Real Betis on Saturday. Valencia were 30 points back in third in the last automatic qualification Champions League slot despite losing 1-0 at Real Sociedad on Saturday.

Big-spending Malaga clinched fourth place in La Liga and a first assault on the Champions League with a 1-0 home win over Gijon.  Atletico Madrid and Levante finished fifth and sixth to secure entry to the Europa League.

Atletico, who won the Europa League in midweek, beat Villarreal 1-0 to condemned the Yellow Submarine – a Champions League entrant last autumn, to relegation along with Gijon and Santander.

In Italy Alessandro Del Piero, almost certainly playing his last home game for Juventus at 37, celebrated with a goal as the newly-crowned record Serie A champions beat Atalanta 3-1 to finish their campaign unbeaten.

Juventus became the second team only to win Serie A without losing a game after Fabio Capello’s Milan in 1992 and the first to achieve the feat in a 38-match season. Filippo Inzaghi, 38 and playing his last league game for AC Milan after 11 seasons, scored the winner in a 2-1 victory for the runners-up against relegated Novara.

In Austria Salzburg won the Bundesliga for the fourth time in six seasons to extend the dominance they have enjoyed since being taken over by the Red Bull energy drinks manufacturer. They made sure of the title with one match to spare by thrashing 10-man Wiener Neustadt 5-1 away, keeping six points clear of Rapid Vienna who won 2-0 at relegated Kapfenberg.
