KRAKOW: The elephant who got the outcome of the Opening Match of Euro 2012 wrong is trying for second time lucky.

Citta, a 33-year-old elephant who lives at Krakow Zoo, selected a melon symbolizing a Polish victory ahead of the game against Greece which finished, instead, in a 1-1 draw. Now Citta has tried again, selecting Poland to beat Russia.

Apparently Citta beat competition from a parrot and a donkey to get the job as Euro 2012 fortune-teller by correctly predicting Chelsea’s victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

It was the eerily accurate predictions of Paul the Octopus at the 2010 World Cup that started the psychic animal craze.

Paul correctly predicted the outcome of every match Germany played, as well as Spain’s victory over Holland in the final.
