LONDON/PARIS: Arsenal fullback Bacary Sagna, hoping to be back in action soon after injury, has raised questions about the club’s transfer policy.

Sagna, interviewed by the Paris sports daily L’Equipe, raled not about the decision to sell captain and top scorer Robin Van Persie to Manchester United but the release of defensive midfielder Alex Song to Barcelona, a potential Champions League rival later in the competition.

“Everyone expected Robin Van Persie to go but as for the departure of Alex Song . . . that was a surprise. I still don’t understand it. It’s an enormous blow for the club.

“When you see both the best players from last season leading you start to wonder. I understand why the supporters are concerned.”
