ROME:  Giampaolo Pazzini’s double helped AC Milan take third place in Serie A with a 3-0 home victory over 10-man Lazio. Pazzini was deputising for injured Mario Balotelli and making his first league appearance for more than a month. Kevin-Prince Boateng scored the other goal.

Massimiliano Allegri’s resurgent Milan are unbeaten in the league since the mid-season break and have 48 points from 27 games, one ahead of fourth-placed Lazio and five behind Napoli in second.

Leaders Juventus have 59 points after drawing 1-1 at Napoli on Friday.

In France leaders Paris Saint-Germain suffered a second defeat in three league with a 1-0 upset at promoted 10-man Reims. Grzegorz Krychowiak scored the only goal two minutes after Christopher Glombard had been sent off on the hour. Even the second-half arrival of substitute David Beckham failed to lift PSG.

In Germany Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski scored twice in a 3-1 win over Hannover as Jurgen Klopp’s men put their midweek cup exit to leaders Bayern Munich behind them.

Dortmund, who host Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday in the Champions League, remain one point ahead of third-placed Bayer Leverkusen who scored twice in the last eight minutes to beat Stuttgart 2-1.

In Holland Ajax Amsterdam struck two first-half goals to beat managerless Twente Enschede 2-0 and remain two points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven who won by the same score at home to VVV Venlo.

First half goals by Niklas Moisander and Toby Alderweireld gave second-placed Ajax victory at Twente, who have not won in seven matches and are looking for a new coach after former England manager Steve McClaren resigned earlier this week.

In Portugal Porto’s league leadership came under pressure after they could only draw only draw 0-0 against financially troubled Sporting who had lost three of their previous four matches. The Lisbon club were even reduced to 10 men with 10 minutes to go after the dismissal of Argentine defender Marcos Rojo.
