PARIS: Paris Saint-Germain edged out Valencia and Juventus finished off Celtic to reach the Champions League quarter-finals, both after long absences.

PSG entered the quarters for the first time in 18 seasons after a 1-1 home draw withValencia which added up to a 3-2 win on aggregate.

Valencia levelled tie on aggregate with a long-range effort from Brazilian Jonas after 55 minutes but PSG regained the overall advantage 11 minutes later through Argentinian Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Former Englandcaptain David Beckham remained among the unused PSG substitutes.

Juventus, 3-0 ahead from the first leg in Glasgow, beat 1967 champions Celtic 2-0 with goals from Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella for a 5-0 successful. The former double European champions had not reached the quarter-finals since 2006 – the year they were punished with relegation in Italy for matchfixing.

This time around they are unbeaten in 18 European games.
