—- Jordan’s Olympic Football Team will play a friendly next week against an England Football Association C team.

With the world’s top leagues on a break for international matches, a squad of professionals from England’s lower leagues will play Jordan next Tuesday at 5pm in the King Abdullah Stadium.

The English team is preparing for the International Challenge Trophy to be held in Slovakia, while the match will give our young Jordanian players a chance to see how they compare to their British counterparts.

Meanwhile, it wasn’t the best of weeks for our teams starting their Asian Cup group stages. That Ras lost 1-0 to Al Safa’a in Lebanon, while Shabab Al Ordon lost 3-1 at home to Erbil. Hopefully better results to come in their next group games.

In other sports news, our friends at the Jordan Olympic Committee inform us that tonight (Thursday) the Jordan Basketball League heads towards an exciting finale. The Applied Science team won the first two matches of the finals but Al Etihad Schools Club won the third of the best of five series. Tonight’s match at 6pm in Prince Hamzeh Hall will either see Applied Science crowned champions or Al Etihad Schools Club take it into a fifth and deciding match.
