ZURICH: FIFA has announced the referees and the assistant referees who will officiate at the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada 2014.

Female referees and assistant referees from 28 different countries have been selected for this tournament, which is also part of the preparation for the prospective candidate match officials for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™.

The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014 takes place from 5 – 24 August 2014. 16 teams will compete for the title. The matches will be played in the cities of Edmonton, Moncton, Montreal and Toronto. This competition serves as a showcase for the future stars of women’s football, with the best often proving that they are ready for the senior competition just one year later. The same goes for the referees. For them it will be a valuable test leading up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™.
