LONDON: A stoppage-time goal from Stephane Mbia salvaged a Europa League draw for Sevilla, though the holders were down to 10 men away to Rijeka.
Iago Aspas put the holders ahead in their Group G game before Timothee Kolodziejczak saw red for a foul that gave Rijeka a penalty, which was converted by Andrej Kramaric.
Sven van Beek gave the home side the lead, which was cancelled out by a chip from Jonathan Viera before Elvis Manu drove in the winner. Zoran Kvrzic’s low shot made it 2-1 to the home side before Mbia volleyed in the leveller a minute into added time.
In Group H, a goal from ex-Chelsea man Kevin De Bruyne earned a 1-1 draw for Wolfsburg against Lille in Germany.
Midfielder De Bruyne, who left Stamford Bridge to move to the Bundesliga during the summer, netted in the 82nd minute to cancel out Lille’s opener, scored by on-loan Liverpool striker Divock Origi. He scored from the penalty spot after Ricardo Rodriguez was penalised for handball.
That result means Everton, who drew 1-1 at FK Krasnodar on Thursday, top the group, with the Russian side level with Lille on two points and the German side bottom with one.
There was disappointment for Dutch side PSV, who lost 1-0 to Dynamo Moscow , for whom former Chelsea man Yuri Zhirkov smashed home a 93rd-minute winner to maintain their 100% record in Group E.
Inter Milan also made it two wins from two and a hat-trick of victories for Italian sides on Thursday with a 2-0 win over Azerbaijani side Qarabag, thanks to goals from Danilo D’Ambrosio and Mauro Icardi in Group F.
Marek Hamsik and Gonzalo Higuain scored as Napoli won 2-0 at Slovan Bratislava in Group I, while former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani was one of the scorers for Fiorentina , who also had Micah Richards in their side, in a 3-0 win at Dinamo Minsk in Group K.
Tottenham were held 1-1 at home by Besiktas in Group C with a last-minute equaliser from Demba Ba wiping out the early advantage handed to Spurs by Harry Kane.
