MADRID: Cristiano Ronaldo scored after only 99 seconds as Real Madrid cruised to a 4-0 victory at Granada, their club record 11th win in a row.

The Portuguese forward hit his 20th goal in 12 games to set Carlo Ancelotti’s side off to a dream start at the Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium and half an hour later James Rodriguez scored a wonder goal, followed by a tap in in the second half, while Karim Benzema also got in on the scoring act.

This was yet another dominant performance from Los Blancos who thus followed up last week’s victory over Barcelona by taking over at the top of the table from the Catalans who suffered a shock defeat by Celta Vigo despite hitting the posts four times.

Joaquín Larrivey scored the goal which secured Celta a first Camp Nou win since 1941.

In Germany Bayern Munich hit back twice late in the game for a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund who had taken an early lead through Marco Reus.

In Italy Roma missed a chance to take at least temporary command of Serie A in losing 2-0 at Napoli.

Victory in Naples would have lifted the Giallorossi three points clear of title rivals and champions Juventus but, after Gonzalo Higuain fired a stylish early opener, Roma were largely second best.

Rudi Garcia’s men did mount a rally after the break, yet their second defeat of the season was ultimately confirmed by a late strike from the industrious Jose Callejon.
