NYON: European federation UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Tottenham Hotspur after incidents in Thursday’s Europa League 1-0 win over Partizan Belgrade.

The tie had to be stopped three times because of apparently orchestrated single-figure pitch invasions and the referee took the players off the pitch briefly towards the end of the first half.

UEFA said that proceedings had been opened on charges of pitch field invasion contravening art. 16 (2) (a) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.

The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 11 December.

Disciplinary proceedings have also been opened following Thursday’s Europa League group L match in which hosts Lokeren beat Legia Warsaw 1-0.

In this case a charge of racist behaviour, crowd disturbances and the setting-off of fireworks has been levelled against the Polish club.

This case will be dealt with on December 2.
