ROME: Italian Serie A side Parma FC have named 29-year-old Ermir Kodra as their new president, chief executive and general manager.

Kodra, president and chief executive of the club’s parent company Eventi Sportivi S.p.A,  was born in Albania on 21st November 1985 and becomes the youngest president in top-tier Italian soccer.

Parma, recently sold to a mysterious Cyrpiot-Russian group, have opted to keep sporting director Pietro Leondardi at the cub following Kodra’s appointment. Leonardi takes the roles of director general and joint chief executive.

Kodra has worked at the BKT Bank of Tirana and was director of marketing at the ARMO, the largest oil refinery in Albania.

He graduated from the University of Tirana’s economics faculty with a degree in business administration in 2008.

Parma are currently rooted to the bottom of Serie A after 19 games.
