PARIS: Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted that coach Laurent Blanc and star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be staying, whether or not they cling on to their French league title.

PSG, recently knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona, are  battling for the crown with revived Lyon and can win both domestic cups.

Chairman Al-Khelaifi was asked, in an interview with Le Parisien, whether Blanc would still be in charge as coach next season. He responded: “Yes, of course,” adding that recent criticisms of the former France star defender were “unfair”.

As for Ibrahimovic, Al-Khelaifi said the Sweden international would see out the final year of his contract, adding: “The matter is not even up for debate. He will be staying for us for next season, and that is for sure – and that goes for Javier Pastore too.”

Al-Khelaifi also insisted he would not consider any transfer purchase offers for Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani and conceded he had been in talks with Juventus over France midfielder Paul Pogba. PSG gave also been linked with Manchester United’s unsettled Argentina forward Angel Di Maria.
