NYON: UEFA has signed a three-year deal with courier services company FedEx to become the official main sponsor of the UEFA Europa League.

The sponsorship will begin in 2015-16 season and run through to, and include, the UEFA Europa League final in 2018.

The deal will provide FedEx with brand visibility during each Europa League season such as static stadium boards from the group stage, and LED perimeter boards at all stadiums from the round of 16 onwards.

FedEx will also benefit from digital and social media content opportunities, and use of the UEFA Europa League brand assets.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events SA said: “FedEx has a long and established pedigree in sports sponsorship, and we are delighted to be welcoming them on board as main sponsor.

“We look forward to collaborating with FedEx throughout the duration of their sponsorship, and helping them to meet their objectives.”

Andrew Self, vice-president marketing and communications for FedEx, said: “As one of the most important European club football competitions, the UEFA Europa League is a perfect sponsorship for FedEx, which has a strong commitment to doing business across borders throughout the European region.

“It is a great way for us to reinforce the commitment and passion that our employees demonstrate every day.”
