MADRID: Real Madrid won nothing out on the pitch this year but the Spanish giants are proving champions of the virtual game.
After the innovative deal with Microsoft the reigning FIFA club world champions have signed a three-year partnership with video game developer EA Sports.
The deal will see EA Sports become the exclusive and official videogame partner of the club.
As part of the partnership, EA Sports FIFA 16 will include updated 3D head scans of 14 stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema.
Real Madrid stars will also compete in an exclusive Fifa 16 tournament later this coming season.
The partnership also extends into the club’s Bernabéu stadium, with player celebrations being accompanied by EA Sports FIFA branding after home team goals on the stadium’s big screen on game day.
Emilio Butragueño, the club’s director of institutional relations, said, “We’re delighted to be working with EA Sports. They’re the market leading brand in football videogames and we can’t wait to start working together to give our fans unforgettable experiences.”
