LONDON: Rapidly expanding taxi app company Uber has signed a marketing deal with English champions Chelsea.
The short-term deal coincides with the release of Chelsea’s new home shirt and saw Uber deliver special early-release replica shirts to Uber customers in the five days leading up to the launch today, on July 22.
Fans in eight cities around the world – Cape Town, Los Angeles, Moscow, Mumbai, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, and Tokyo – have been able to unlock a Chelsea vehicle view on the Uber app to request the delivery of a new Chelsea shirt.
Fraser Robinson, Uber’s regional head of business, said: “This represents a first for Uber in the world of sports. We are always looking for ways to make the Uber experience even better for our millions of riders worldwide.”
