LONDON: Two more goals from £58m teenager Anthony Martial led Manchester United’s revival to a 3-2 win at Southampton but Louis Van Gaal’s team made hard work of it.

United looking badly out of form in the opening exchanges and were punished by Graziano Pelle. Sloppy Saints’ defending allowed United to equalise through Martial on an assist from Juan Mata. Then a suicidal back pass from Maya Yoshida, five minutes into the second half, provided the ex-Monaco starlet with his second goal.

Back-in-favour David De Gea made two magnificent saves to hold Saints at bay before United extended their lead through Mata after Memphis Depay hit a post. Yet they endured some nervy closing minutes, with more fine saves from De Gea, after conceding a late goal to Pelle.

Earlier South Korean Son Heung-Min scored a first goal for Tottenham to provide Mauricio Pochettino’s slow-starting team with their first home win of the season by 1-0 over Crystal Palace.

The former Leverkusen midfielder said: “I hope every week is like this. It’s amazing to play in the Premier League, a really different style to the Bundesliga, more power and speed. I like it!”

Substitute Danny Ings scored as substitute for Liverpool against in a 1-1 draw against promoted Norwich. Russell Martin equalised after Liverpool failed to defend a corner effectively.
