BERN: Credit Suisse has reported in its quarterly review that its officials have been questioned by United States and Swiss authorities investigating the many and varied scandals surrounded world football federation FIFA.

The bank said it had received requests to disclose petitions concerning its “banking relationships with certain entities and individuals associated with FIFA,”

Credit Suisse added that these inquiries related to people and organisations referred to in the indictment filed by the US authorities in May but were however not limited to these individuals.

The US and Swiss authorities are investigating “suspicious or otherwise irregular” transactions through the Swiss banking sector and whether any banks had failed in their obligations concerning legislation and regulations concerning money laundering.
