LONDON: Cristiano Ronaldo’s weekend goal for Real Madrid in an easy 4-0 win over Eibar created a three-way tie at the top of the ranking for the ESM Golden Shoe.

Ronaldo, the only player to reach 30 goals in six successive Liga seasons, pulled level with Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain and Benfica’s Jonas.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic also totals 30 goals for recrowned French league champions Paris Saint-Germain however he is only joint eighth in the rankings because of the league assessment system.

Players’ goals totals are multiplied by a 1-2-3 ranking of the countries according to the UEFA Ranking of last July 1. That means the goals from numbers one (Spain) to five (Portugal) are doubled, goals from places six  (France) to 22 (Denmark) are multiplied by 1.5.

As in previous years the Golden Shoe does not consider goals in play-off competitions so the leagues in Belgium, Israel, Cyprus and Romania are judged as already completed.
