PARIS: France has deported Russian fan leader Aleksandr Shprygin for the second time in less than a week over violence that marred the start of Euro 2016.

Police re-arrested Shprygin on Monday in Toulouse where Russian lost 3-0 to Wales and were eliminated from the tournament.

He had previously been deported Saturday after violence at the match in Marseille between England and Russia but had immediately come back into the country.

Trouble has eased in recent days though police used tear gas, pepper spray and batons to break up fights between Polish and Ukrainian fans yesterday in Marseille. At least 12 arrests were reported.
