DOHA: Soccerex is to stage a two-day forum in Qatar on December 5-6 with the support of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, with the aim of showcasing the region’s sports business potential.

The Soccerex Asian Forum 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel, according to Soccerex, “will provide the global football industry with unique insight, and access, to the key development projects ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“With more than 30 large scale infrastructure and stadia related tenders currently open ahead of this groundbreaking tournament, the Asian Forum will allow delegates to hear from, and connect with, the decision makers directly responsible for their fulfilment.”

Nasser Al Khater, assistant secretary-general, tournament affairs for the Supreme Committee, said: “During Qatar’s bid to host the 2022 FIFA World CupTM and on many occasions since we won hosting rights, Soccerex has provided us with a crucial platform to disseminate our key messages. Furthermore Soccerex shares the Supreme Committee’s commitment to football’s global development.”

In 2022 Qatar will host first World Cup to be staged in the Middle East as a pinnacle to sports investment worldwide which includes the ownership of French champions Paris Saint-Germain and the Qatar Airways sponsorship of FC Barcelona.
