LONDON:   Nike has extended its kit sponsorship of the England national football team, agreeing a 12-year extension reportedly worth around £400m.

The deal is understood to be the second most-lucrative deal in international football – behind Adidas’ association with world champions Germany – with the partnership due to continue until 2030.

The American sports manufacturer initially replaced Umbro as England’s sponsor in 2013, with the new deal being the most profitable in British international history.

Value and deal loyalty remains apparently unaffected by England’s disastrous exit from Euro 2016 at the hands of minnows Iceland.
