General Director since 2010, Kirsi Erofejeff-Engman from Finland (46 years old), wanted to give a new orientation to her career and will put an end to her functions on June 30th, 2017. She will be replaced by Mrs Lisa Worthmann (GER), who is at present in charge of Events in the Swiss Gymnastics Federation.
UEG President Georges Guelzec (FRA), even though regretting her departure, has commented this information by underlining the excellent work accomplished. « The healthy and successful situation of our Union, its operation, its impact in the European sports world are equally the illustration of the style and the personality of Kirsi Erofejeff-Engman. » and adds: « The UEG is grateful to her for this model of governance, for her integrity and wishes her a lot of success for her new and high responsibilities in Finland. »
The new General Director, 41 years old, will assume her functions on September 1st, 2017. « I am delighted with this nomination, which ensures continuity and stability for our Union! » confided President Guelzec. « The personality and the qualities of Lisa Worthmann are recognised by all actors in European gymnastics. The UEG is proud and very pleased to be able to count on her experience and competences in terms of management and human relations. »
In the recent past, she was Event Manager of the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Berlin (GER) in 2011, Secretary General at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Bern (SUI) in 2016 and she perfectly knows the workings of international gymnastics as she has worked some time for the FIG
