KAZAN/MADRID: Antoine Griezmann has decided, after all, to with Atletico Madrid after speculation that he was minded to quite the Europa League holders for Barcelona in a €100m deal.

In a Spanish television show called ‘The Decision’, which documented the player’s deliberations over a two-month period, Griezmann stated his intentions to remain in the Spanish capital.

The France striker, who once expressed an ambition to play for Manchester United, has signed a four-year contract extension with the Colchoneros.

Griezmann, expected to lead France’s World Cup attack tomorrow/Saturday against Australia in Kazan, has been Atletico’s top scorer for the past three seasons and posted a video on social media on Thursday evening in which he confirmed he was staying put.

He tweeted: “My fans, my team, MY HOME!!!” in Spanish, French and English along with a video in which he is seen walking around Madrid to a backing of the Amanda Delara song ‘We Don’t Run From Anyone.’

Last year United appeared to be poised to land Griezmann who then signed a one-year contact extension with Atletico, tying him to the club until 2022.

Griezmann, since joining Atletico from Real Sociedad for £24m in 2014, has scored 112 goals in all competitions.

He also helped Atletico reach the 2016 Champions League final and scored twice as they beat Marseille 3-0 in last month’s Europa League final.
