ERIC WEIL in BUENOS AIRES: Everybody is going crazy in Argentine soccer.

It is well known that Argentine football clubs must sell their best players abroad to continue financially because of their bad management, corruption and their hooligan fans, so when their managers spend half the season trying to improve their teams, the mid-summer break comes and some of their best players leave for abroad.

This summer 64 players were sold to foreign clubs  Then clubs throw out their managers because of poor results. After 19 rounds of the current championship, 15 clubs have changed 18 managers.

This means that players also go crazy having to change to new ways of playing and tactics in the middle of the season under new managers. The national team is in a similar situation as far as stability is concerned. Since Alfio Basile retired as manager 15 years ago, the squad has had 13 managers including the present one and, of course, numerous team changes.
