PARIS/ZURICH: International football federation FIFA has confirmed five bids to host the U-20 World Cup in 2021. This year finals, in Poland, brought a surprise victory for Ukraine.

All eight member associations which originally expressed interest in 2021 have confirmed their participation in the bidding process by signing up to the relevant terms and conditions.

Detailed proposals must be submitted by August 30 with a decision being made by FIFA Council in Shanghai on October 23 and 24.

The bids are from Bahrain, Saudi Arabian & United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Indonesia, Myanmar & Thailand and finally Peru.
