NYON/ISTANBUL: Turkish club Trabzonspor have been given one last chance and cleared to compete in UEFA club competitions this season despite being found guilty by the European federation of falling down on financial fair play demands.

A statement from UEFA explained that the adjudicatory chamber of its Club Financial Control Body had  determined that Trabzonspor failed to be break-even as required by the settlement agreement it signed in May 2016.

Trabzonspor have been punished with exclusion from UEFA club competitions in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons but this has been suspended provided the club can prove, by October 15, that it has fulfilled conditions to sort out its debts.
The club have said in a Twitter post that they will play in the UEFA Europa League this season, confirming their participation.
