ZURICH: Eight bids have been confirmed by FIFA for the expanded 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with 32 teams.

They are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Japan, South and North Korea, New Zealand and South Africa. Bolivia have dropped after expressing an earlier interest and Belgium have denied ever considered a bid as previously announced from FIFA HQ in Zurich.

A FIFA statement said it had dispatched the updated bidding and hosting documents to all eight member associations which have until December 13 to submit their bid book, the signed hosting agreement and all other hosting and bidding documents.

All bid books will be published on FIFA.com and official inspections will take place next January and February. The FIFA Council will decide on the host next May with voting to be made public.
