LONDON: Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has sensationally claimed that the midfielder’s career at Manchester United is over.

The announcement comes just 24 hours before United face RB Leipzig is a crucial Champions League game, with the winner securing qualification to the knockout stages.

In an interview due to be published on Tuesday, Raiola told Italian daily sports paper Tuttosport: “I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

“Paul is unhappy. He is no longer able to express himself as he would like and as expected of him.

“He has to change teams; he has to change the air. He has a contract that will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution for the parties is to sell him in the next market.”

This is not the first time that Raiola has publicly discussed Pogba’s future at the club.

Previously he has said that the midfielder could leave the Red Devils in search of a team more likely to win trophies but a return to the Champions League and a run to three semi-finals last season seemed to have changed their minds during the most recent transfer window.

In August, Raiola told Sky Sports Italy: “Pogba is key player for Man United, they’ve an important project and he’s 100 per cent included. Manchester United will not accept any bid this summer to sell Pogba. We’re going to speak about a new contract soon, no stress.”

However, it appears that the situation has drastically changed with the midfielder now likely to seek an exit during the January window.

Pogba’s current United contract is set to expire at the end of next season after the club triggered an automatic one-year extension. Recent contract talks failed to provide an answer and Pogba recently lost his starting spot in the Manchester United side, with Solskjaer rotating his options in that area.
