KEIR RADNEDGE REPORTS: Amahl Pellegrino of Norway’s Kristiansund BK is now only joint 25-goal leader in the season’s early compilation of the ESM European Golden Shoe rankings.

Level with him on 25 goals is Kasper Junker of Bodo-Glimt.

The Scandinavian leagues which traditionally play to a calendar-year schedule always provide the initial leaders before being overtaken in due course by the superstars of western Europe.

Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski is the leading pursuer from the traditional Golden Shoe powers with 12 goals so far in the Bundesliga.

The Golden Shoe is based on a ranking computed according to UEFA’s end-of-season rankings. Thus marksmen from among the top five nations benefit from a multiple of 2.0, the next batch (places six to 22 ) a factor of 1.5 and the remainder 1.0.

Last season’s winner was Lazio’s Ciro Immobile.
