LONDON: Leicester City took over at the top of the Premier League table and stepped up the pressure on visiting manager Frank Lampard after beating Chelsea 2-0.

The Foxes are a point clear of Manchester United having played a game more while Chelsea are in eighth, five points off the Champions League places.

Leicester took command after only six minutes through Wilfred Ndidi. Four minutes before half-time James Maddison beat Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy from a Marc Albrighton assist.

Chelsea barely raised a gallop after the break and it was Leicester who created the better openings as James Justin headed wide when unmarked and Mendy saved from Youri Tielemans.
