NYON: Manchester City, like Liverpool, will be playing their away tie in the Champions League second round in the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Last week UEFA stated that RB Leipzig’s home first leg tie against Liverpool would be played in Hungary, because of pandemic travel entry restrictions in Germany.

Now the European federation has followed up with confirmation that the first leg between Borussia Monchengladbac and City on February 24 will also be staged in Budapest.

UEFA expressed thanks for cooperation to both clubs.

Germany has prohibited most travel from countries hit hard by new variants of Covid-19, including the UK.

The Leipzig v Liverpool tie will take place on February 16 with the second leg still on March 10 at Anfield.
