PARIS: Nantes have sacked former France coach Raymond Domenech after only seven games.

Domenech, who guided France to the 2006 World Cup Final in Italy, took over in December and leaves after a 4-2 French cup defeat by Lens. Nantes have now gone 15 games without a victory in all competitions.

This was Domenech’s first coaching role since the disastrous French campaign at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.  for the ‘bleu’ team with him as coach, has not been able to straighten the course of Nantes, which has the worst streak in its history: 15 matches without knowing victory.

Under Domenech’s orders, Nantes recorded four draws and three defeats. He missed the cup defeat because of being in self-isolation afte testing positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
