ROME: Luigi Sartor, a former Italian international, has been arrested for growing 106 marijuana plants, enough to produce a total of two kilos of drugs.

Suspicion apparently arose came after power consumption doubled in a supposedly abandoned cabin on the outskirts of Parma.

The 46-year-old former defender, who was arrested along with an accomplice, is under house arrest, after appearing before a judge on charges filed on drug possession and trafficking.

Sartor, who played for Juventus, Internazionale, Roma and Parma, was previously implicated in a match-fixing and betting case.
