SEVILLE: The goal-hungry Erling Braut Haaland maintained his irresistible scoring run in the Champions League as Borussia Dortmund won 3-2 away to Sevilla in the Champions League second round first leg in Spain.

Dortmund trailed early on to a Suso shot that deflected in off Mats Hummels but Mahmoud Dahoud levelled before Haaland struck his 17th goal in 13 games in the competition to put the visitors ahead.

Haaland followed up with another before substitute Luuk de Jong struck a late goal to keep Sevilla just about alive in the tie which resumes on March 9.

The substitute’s side-foot finish from a free-kick was reward for a concerted push from the home side that ultimately came too late to level the score on the night.

Sevilla claimed a penalty in stoppage time after a tangle between Thomas Meunier and De Jong but VAR denied the chance of an equaliser.

Juventus beaten

Porto and Juventus will have little between them in their second leg after the Portuguese won 2-1 at home to the Italian champions.

Mehdi Taremi pounced on Rodrigo Bentancur’s poor back pass to open the scoring for Porto after only 63 seconds.

Juventus were being outplayed though Adrien Rabiot had an acrobatic effort pushed away before Moussa Marega scored Porto’s second goal 19 seconds into the second half.

That goal finally sparked Juventus to life and Federico Chiesa pulled a fine goal back on 82 minutes. Cristiano Ronaldo claimed a last-minute penalty in vain.
