KEIR RADNEDGE REPORTS: The Egyptian football federation has included Liverpool forward Mo Salah for its squad for the rescheduled Olympic Games in Tokyo.

That is bound to upset the English Premier League champions who would lose Salah for both their pre-season work and the start of the 2021-22 season.

Salah would be one of the permitted three over-age players in the Egyptian squad in a tournament whose age limit has been raised from 23 to w24 because of the pandemic-enforced one-year postponement.

Egypt’s under-23 coach, Shawky Gharib, has admitted that the federation had not yet discussed it with Liverpool but intended to do so “after the March break.”
