LONDON: In a major blow for both England and West Ham midfielder Decan Rice has been sidelined for up to six weeks by a knee injury which threatens his prospects of playing in the Euro finals.

The midfielder has captained West Ham this season is their surprise bid to reach the Champions League slots and his partnership with Tomas Soucek is one of the more formidable in the Premier League.

Rice was hut during England’s World Cup qualifying victry over Poland last week.

The 22-year-old issued a message via Twitter saying: “Rehab has started. Gutted to be missing the game tonight. Overwhelmed by all the support but I’ll be back in no time. Come on the boys!”
