ROME: Napoli added to Juventus’ problems when a late winning goal from Kalidou Koulibaly secured a 2-1 comeback victory to extend their perfect start in Serie A.

Juve are without a win after three games. This is only the second time in their last 52 Serie A campaigns that Juve have failed to win any of their opening three league games. However, the other occasion also came under their current coach, Massimiliano Allegri, in 2015-16, when they went on to win the title by nine points.

Allegri said: “When you do not win in football, you only need to be quiet and work. The important thing is getting our first victory.

Juve were without several key players due to injuries and late returns from the international break, but they took an early lead at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona when Morata curled in a fine finish. Napoli dominated possession but struggled to turn opportunities into goals, until Wojciech Szczesny weakly palmed a Lorenzo Insigne effort into the path of Matteo Politano for an easy tap-in on the 57th minute.

Luciano Spalletti’s side kept pushing for a decisive second and were rewarded in bizarre circumstances with five minutes remaining, when the Juve substitute Moise Kean’s headed back-pass from a corner required a reflex save from Szczesny but left Koulibaly with a tap-in.

Dusan Vlahovic scored two penalties to earn Fiorentina a 2-1 win away to Atalanta , while newly promoted Venezia earned their first win of the season at Empoli thanks to a Thomas Henry goal and a dazzling solo goal from substitute David Okereke, who began a winding dribble inside his own half before firing into the bottom corner.

In Germany . . .

Erling Haaland scored two goals and made another as Borussia Dortmund repeatedly came from behind before beating Bayer Leverkusen 4-3 and Bayern Munich thumped RB Leipzig 4-1 in a pair of highly entertaining Bundesliga games.

Florian Wirtz opened the scoring for Leverkusen with a toe-poke in the ninth minute, but striker Haaland equalised with a towering header in the 37th before Jude Bellingham had a second for Dortmund ruled out due to a foul in the buildup.

Patrik Schick then scored in first-half stoppage time to put Leverkusen 2-1 up. There was to be no let-up after the break. Julian Brandt levelled in the 49th minute, deftly controlling Haaland’s pass with his heel before rifling the ball into the roof of the net, but within six minutes Leverkusen were ahead again through Moussa Diaby’s strike from the edge of the area.

Again Dortmund equalised, this time through a superb Raphaël Guerreiro free-kick, and they went into a 4-3 lead from the penalty spot in the 77th minute when Haaland fired home after Marco Reus was struck in the face by the arm of Odilon Kossounou.

In the late game, the teenage attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala came off the bench to score one goal and make another as Bayern Munich out-classed RB Leipzig, with Robert Lewandowski, Leroy Sane and Maxim Choupo-Moting also getting on the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Wolfsburg remained top of the table with a comfortable 2-0 win over struggling Greuther Fürth , while Cologne managed to hang on for a 1-1 draw at Freiburg despite losing Florian Kainz to a second yellow card in the 74th minute.

Mainz scored a goal in each half as they beat Hoffenheim 2-0 while Union Berlin were held to a scoreless draw at home to Augsburg .

In France . . .

Paris Saint-Germain kept their perfect Ligue 1 record intact as they hammered promoted Clermont 4-0 with a brutal display. In the absence of Lionel Messi and Neymar, who were not in the squad after returning late from international duty, Kylian Mbappé netted his fourth goal on his first appearance at the Parc des Princes since Real Madrid failed in a bid to buy the 22-year-old.

The France striker added to Ander Herrera’s first-half double with Idrissa Gueye rounding if off after the hour. Gianluigi Donnarumma, playing his first game with PSG at the expense of Keylor Navas, proved solid.

Donnarumma said: “It was my first game, it was a bit special and we got a perfect result after a good preparation. I was a bit emotional to play my first game for the club.”

Bamba Dieng scored both goals as Marseille maintained their unbeaten start with a 2-0 victory at Monaco .

In Spain . . .

Goals from Dani Vivian and Iñaki Williams midway through the second half saw Athletic Bilbao go top of the table in Spain with a 2-0 win against Mallorca.

The other match in La Liga finished all square as Sergi Guardiola struck late on to rescue Rayo Vallecano a draw at Levante , who had led through Roger’s first-half spot-kick.

Three other games originally scheduled for Saturday were postponed to give rest to players returning from international duty with South American nations.

Barcelona’s game at Sevilla and Villarreal’s home match against Alavés were both postponed with a new date yet to be determined. Real Madrid’s home match against Celta Vigo has been moved to Sunday.
