PARIS: Vincent Nolorgues, president of the French Amateur Football League, has become the latest senior figure to demand the resignation of controversial Noel Le Graet as president of the federation.

Le Graet, who is being supported by European federation as a member of the FIFA Council, is under pressure over allegations of sexual harassment.

Norlogues is a member of the French federation’s executive committee.

He said he believed that Le GraĆ«t, who has stepped aside temporarily, should resign “to protect the credibility of the institution.”

In a further development Florence Hardouin, who was suspended as federation ceo in January, has applied for legal status as a whistleblower over her allegations of sexual harassment against Le Graet.

UEFA’s relationship with the French federation has come under increasing scrutiny after both bodies initially sought to blame Liverpool fans for the chaos at the Champions League Final last year.

An independent UEFA placed blame for events squarely at the door of UEFA and of the French authorities.
