PARIS: France superstar Kylian Mbappe has delivered a formal letter to champions Paris Saint-Germain to warm the Qatari-owned club that he intends to leave next year on the expiry of his current contract.

PSG’s repeated failures to win the Champions League are believed to have frustrated Mbappe who will not have Leo Messi as a team-mate next season.

The club will now have to decide whether to accept offers now for Mbappe from one of the big Premier League clubs or Real Madrid who have long been eager to sign him.

PSG are particularly upset because only two weeks ago Mbappe told a players’ association gala: “I have one year more on my contract and I’m going to fulfill it.”
