NYON: Footballer players land themselves in disciplinary trouble if they dare fall into the temptation of betting on games – or inveigle relatives and friends to do so on their behalf.

But European football federation UEFA has no problem about encouraging gambling by signing a sponsorship deal with Betano.

A UEFA statement explained:

UEFA has announced today that Kaizen Gaming, one of the biggest GameTech companies in the world, and its brand Betano have become an official global sponsor of UEFA EURO 2024, which will take place across ten host cities in Germany from 14 June to 14 July.

Kaizen Gaming and Betano belong to the leading gaming and sports betting platforms globally and will serve as the exclusive betting partner of the European Championship.

The partnership will connect one of the most prestigious sports events with a global audience of sports enthusiasts, who will be offered the opportunity to game or bet on EURO matches on one of the world’s premium platforms.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, director of marketing at UEFA, said, “We are delighted to welcome Kaizen Gaming and its brand Betano as an official partner of UEFA EURO 2024. Betano is a leading digital sports betting operator, with a focus on cutting-edge technology and responsible gaming. We believe that their industry expertise and affinity to football make them a great fit for the tournament.”

George Daskalakis, Founder and CEO of Kaizen Gaming, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with UEFA for the upcoming EURO 2024 tournament. This collaboration is a new first for the industry and expresses our fundamental passion for football as well as our mutual commitment towards innovation and excellence. We are very excited to be part of this football celebration and are looking forward to enhancing the overall fan experience by delivering unparalleled entertainment through responsible gaming during this highly anticipated European Championship”.
