Klaus Gjasula of Albania was both hero and villain. He scored Albania’s equaliser in stoppage time after having earlier conceded the own goals which put reviving Croatia ahead in the Group B duel. Both teams now have this single point and must win their last group games on Monday if they are to progress.

Andrej Kramaric struck a 74th-minute equaliser on his 33rd birthday, and two minutes later a shot from Ante Budimir struck Befat Djimsiti and ricocheted off Gjasula and into goal. Gjasula then came to the rescue by equalisng from close range n the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Albania finish their group schedule against Spain in Dusseldorf on Monday while Croatia, simultaneously, play Italy.
