GENEVA: The Association of European Professional Football Leagues announced at today’s Extraordinary General Assembly that it is has unanimously approved an agreement reached with UEFA on a variety of issues on the shape and future of European football.
These include EPFL representation within UEFA decision-making bodies, future cooperation on current competition structure, formats & principles and match scheduling issues. This agreement shall enter into force on the date of its signature by the parties.
Lars-Christer Olsson, Chairman of EPFL commented: “I am delighted that our members have approved this agreement we have reached with UEFA which we both feel will protect and enhance the competitive balance within football. This agreement recognizes the fundamental role played by the domestic competitions for the sustainable development of football both at national and international level”.
