PRETORIA: Answers have been sought, so far without success, after sexual assault allegations against Danny Jordaan, high-profile leader of South Africa’s hosting of the 2010 World Cup finals.
A claim of rape dating back to 1993 was published earlier this week by the singer and former MP Jennifer Ferguson.
She has since told South African media that she had received “a message from somebody who experienced the same thing with him.”
Ferguson added: “I don’t know if she will be ready to disclose. It’s a big step to step out.”
Jordaan and the South African FA of which he is president have yet to respond to the allegations.
Gift Ngqondi, regional spokesman for the African National Congress, said: “The difficult part with this issue is that it is only the word of Jennifer Ferguson and we have not heard the word of Comrade Danny Jordaan so it will be difficult for us to respond.”
