KEIR RADNEDGE REPORTS: The United States has been handed 11 of the 16 venues for the 2026 World Cup finals which it will share with junior partners Canada and Mexico.

Canada, home of CONCACAF regional president Victor Montagliani, has been awarded only two venues: Vancouver and Toronto. Mexico provides Guadalajara, Monterey and Mexico City. The Mexicans have lobbied hard for the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City to stage the Opening Match.

The 2026 finals will be first jointly hosted by three nations and the first with an expanded field of 48 teams.

US venues will be Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles in the West, Kansas City, Dallas, Atlanta and Houston in the Central Zone with the Eastern US venues being New York/New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami.

A significant milestone on the road to the FIFA World Cup 2026™ was reached tonight as the 16 Host Cities that are due to stage matches at the first edition of football’s showpiece to feature 48 teams were unveiled by FIFA.

The highly anticipated announcement was made on a TV show produced in cooperation with FOX and Telemundo from New York and broadcast live to host countries Canada, Mexico and the USA, as well as the whole world via FIFA+.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 Host Cities are as follows, in alphabetical order:

Today’s announcement follows the most transparent and comprehensive bidding process in football history, with FIFA’s decision having been made in the best interests of the game, taking into consideration the needs of all stakeholders involved in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
