COPENHAGEN: Manchester United playmaker Christian Eriksen has been confirmed in the Danish squad for the World Cup finals but with five places left to select.

Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand has explained that he prefers to wait for the last league games to be played this week to complete the list and that a dozen players are fighting for the last places.

The initial list includes nine players with World Cup experience, including goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, captain Simon Kjær and midfielder Eriksen who is now fully recovered from the cardiac arrest at Euro 2021 and which means he plays with an implanted defibrillator.

Denmark are in Group D which also includes Australia, Tunisia and France.
