DOHA: FIFA has named Poland’s Szymon Marciniak to referee Sunday’s World Cup Final between Argentina and France in Lusail.

Marciniak, 41, has already refereed both teams in Qatar: Argentina in their 2-1 round of 16 victory over Australia and France in their 2-1 group stage defeat of Denmark.

He has been a regular in Champions League matches since 2012.

Qatar’s Abdulrahman Al-Jassim will referee the match for third place between Croatia and Morocco. The 35-year-old has been a FIFA referee since 2013, and at this year’s FIFA World Cup refereed the group stage match between United States and Wales.

His main achievements include refereeing the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup Final between Liverpool and Flamengo, as well as being one of the Video Assistant Referees during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
