LONDON: Tottenham cruised on in the FA Cup after winning 3-0 aaway to second-tier Preston at Deepdale in the fourth round.

Heung-min Son scored a brace early in the second half, before debutant Arnaut Danjuma scored a third for Antonio Conte’s side.

Manchester United had no problems either. Casemiro scored twice in a 3-1 win over Reading at Old Trafford.

After a frustrating first period for the hosts the Brazil midfielder broke the Royals’ resistance early in the second half, scooping in the first of his two goals after racing on to Antony’s incisive pass.

He doubled United’s lead four minutes later, curling in from the edge of the box after collecting Fred’s pass.

Andy Carroll was sent off for the visitors after picking up his second yellow card shortly before Fred backheeled in the hosts’ third goal from Bruno Fernandes’ cross.

While Erik ten Hag’s side had opportunities to score a fourth, substitute Amadou Mbengue headed in a consolation for Championship side Reading from Tom Ince’s corner.

Five matches went to replays, including Premier League Fulham, who were held at home by Sunderland.

The Cottagers went behind in the sixth minute, but Tom Cairney levelled things up just after the hour mark and the game ended 1-1.

The other games to end in all-square featured Championship leaders Burnley drawing 0-0 at League One Ipswich, League Two Grimsby travelling to Luton and holding out for a 2-2 result, League One pair Sheffield Wednesday and Fleetwood drawing 1-1 and an all-Championship affair between Blackburn and Birmingham finishing 2-2 after a late Blues equaliser.

Southampton beat Blackpool 2-1 to advance to the fifth round, the Saints really enjoying the cup competitions this season and bouncing back following their midweek Carabao Cup defeat, while Bristol City thumped fellow Championship side West Brom 3-0 to progress.

There were no shocks in Saturday’s early games, with Premier League sides Leeds and Leicester both making it past lower-league opponents.

Leeds beat Accrington 3-1, with Jack Harrison opening the scoring in the first half, before second-half goals from Junior Firpo and Luis Sinisterra put the Whites three to the good.

Leslie Adekoya, 18, scored a consolation for League One Accrington, but the top-flight side progressed.
It was the same story as Leicester beat Walsall, though the scoreline was not as emphatic.

The Foxes won 1-0 thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho’s 68th minute goal, though Youri Tielemans missed a penalty earlier in the game.

It was the second round in a row that Leicester have travelled to League Two opposition and won by a narrow 1-0 scoreline.
