FRANKFURT: German champions Bayern Munich have reported sacked coach Julian Nagelsmann, just weeks ahead of their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City.

A report in Bild following the decision after indicated that ex-Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is close to agreeing terms to step in.

Nagelsmann is said to have become unpopular with his players and had also been the subject of public criticism from club boss Oliver Kahn.

Bayern are currently second place in the Bundesliga, one point behind Borussia Dortmund whom they face immediately after the international break.
